Air India partners with renowned design firm HBA to elevate lounge experience worldwide
Air India enlisted the expertise of Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), a globally acclaimed hospitality interior design firm, to revamp its lounges at Terminal 3, Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, and Terminal 4 of JFK Airport in New York. This strategic move is a pivotal part of Air India's transformation plan, aiming to elevate the overall customer experience.
The forthcoming refurbishment and reconstruction of the Air India Lounges in Delhi and New York are poised to transform them into signature lounges, delivering a world-class experience to over four lakh premium guests flying with Air India. The redesigned lounges will be an embodiment of India's rich cultural heritage, incorporating state-of-the-art amenities that resonate with the dynamic spirit of the new Air India—a global airline with an Indian heart.
Aligned with India's diverse culinary traditions, the lounges will present a curated selection of Indian and international cuisine, blending sophistication with comfort. HBA, a renowned partner with a track record of award-winning projects for esteemed institutions like the Taj group, Marriott, InterContinental, Hilton, and Singapore Airlines, is set to collaborate with Air India to establish new lounge comfort and aesthetics benchmarks.
Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, emphasised the commitment to delivering top-notch service to guests through this transformation journey. The redesigned lounges and other customer-centric initiatives over the past year, including enhancements in digital channels, airport and inflight services, and contact centres, aim to fortify Air India's customer proposition. Looking ahead, Air India plans to extend its enhanced lounge experience to major airports globally and domestically, catering to first-class, business-class, eligible F§P, and Star Alliance members.
"We are honoured to partner with Air India and are dedicated to delivering an exceptional hospitality design experience. Our primary focus is to create a meaningful environment for Air India passengers allowing them to experience the airline’s inspirational brand and lounges in a fresh and innovative way," said Ian Carr, Co-CEO, HBA.
